We had an alkaline spa overnight at my house this past weekend. Fran and Susan who grew up around the corner from me in Asheville, North Carolina came up to visit, shop, get pampered, eat some alkaline meals that I prepared and learn how to plan and prepare them in a way that didn’t turn their kitchens and heads upside down. We also cast the tarot deck and talked about the past, our loves, our original families and our kids, husbands, and our futures.
Arriving after the hopeless insanity of driving on I-95 from New Jersey to Connecticut, they hopped out of the car and so did the fun. I had dolled up my room (it looked like a humble, but pretty and unpretentious B&B) for them complete with a couple of gift bags with Arbonne goodies (see www.arbonne.com if you want to buy any of these pure, vegan products from me, just plug in my ID # 190306441) and prepared an alkaline lunch in advance.
I served:
- Fresh squeezed lemonade (2 lemons, 1 lime, 2 quarts alkaline water, 10 drops stevia)
- Green salad (assorted lettuces including romaine, baby romaine, and local organic red leaf, yellow, red, green peppers, cucumber, tomato, sprouted sunflower seeds
- Avocado dressing (1 whole avocado, 1 lime, red pepper flakes, sea salt, black pepper, 1/2 jalapeno, water to desired consistency–you could add some raw almond butter to make it sort of mind bogglingly amazing–then spin it in my mini food processor.
- Sprouted tortilla quesadillas with soy cheese toasted with coconut oil
Then we went to Westport and hit the consignment shop (rich folks getting rid of extraordinary stuff for damn well next to nothing) and then onto Westport village proper where many shops tempted us buy only two managed to relieve our wallets. We tried on stuff and twirled and laughed lo these many many many many years later (each many equals 10 years). It was heavenly fun.
After hitting a discount place in Milford and cleaning it out, we headed home late for dinner and tarot. My plan was to make broccoli soup, but at 9 pm, I lost my initiative. So I dished up salad, avocado dressing, raw, soaked, and dehydrated almonds, and broccoli potato pancakes (which were just a stick in the oven proposition) and more lemonade.
That night the tarot spoke to us of our past–shared to a great degree. It showed the highs and lows and it pointed the way to our futures. After reading for both my friends, I tired and we decided I could get away with just pulling a single card from a deck I made myself. I pulled a card that showed vibrant health and happiness. It showed me that my passion for the green alkaline life was not misplaced.
Next morning, I served pre-breakfast quart jars of alkaline water, chlorophyll, sea salt, and lime. Then for breakfast, buffet of avocado and grapefruit with sprouted sunflower seeds and a blueberry and coconut milk smoothee with flaxseeds, and sprouted almonds.
They told me to do the B&B thing and they headed off to New Jersey and I headed off to Boston. What a beautiful weekend.

Now that’s what I’ma talking about!!!!! I can just see you there doing your thing with the Tarot and eating avocados. Really excellent post!
